Woojin Lee is an award-winning senior interactive designer at CNN where she creates digital storytelling experiences.
Lee stared her journey with CNN as a design intern where her exceptional skills and dedication quickly gained recognition, leading to her current position as the lead designer at CNN International Productions. Before joining CNN, Lee honed her graphic design expertise in South Korea, cultivating a diverse portfolio of successful digital graphics and branding projects.
At CNN, Lee is responsible for a wide range of interactive storytelling and sponsored branding initiatives. She seamlessly partners with diverse teams across the organization to bring these projects to life.
Her interactive feature ‘The planet’s most threatened flight path, and the $3 billion plan to protect it’ recently won the National Headliner Award for best immersive storytelling experience. She also worked on the Emmy Award-winning interactive feature ‘How American police gear up to respond to protests’ as an illustrator.
Lee holds an undergraduate degree in Visual Communication Design from Hanbat National University, a Master’s degree in Graphic Design from London College of Communication and a second Master’s in Narrative Environments from Central Saint Martins. Her studies have enabled her to develop a deep understanding of storytelling in spatial and exhibition design which she creatively applies to interactive journalism.
