Terence Burlij is CNN’s Deputy Political Director based in Washington, D.C. where he helps coordinate political coverage across all CNN platforms. Burlij provides editorial guidance for the network’s daily coverage in addition to writing for CNN Politics.
Prior to arriving at CNN, Burlij served as Deputy Political Editor at the PBS NewsHour, where he helped guide political coverage for the program and was co-author of the daily Morning Line political blog. While at the PBS NewsHour, Burlij worked as part of the team that won the prestigious Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in television political journalism for its coverage of the 2010 midterm elections.
Burlij resides in Alexandria, VA, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
