Simone Pathe is the senior Washington editor for CNN Politics, which she joined in early 2020.
Pathe edits the daily news analysis pieces that capture the biggest stories of the day, as well as enterprise and campaign stories for CNN Politics. She writes CNN’s regular rankings of the 10 Senate seats most likely to flip and contributes other campaign stories, mostly recently reporting from Georgia and Missouri.
Prior to joining CNN, Pathe was a senior political reporter at Roll Call, where she covered US Senate and House races around the country. Before that, she was a reporter/producer for the PBS NewsHour, where she edited the economics blog. She got her first taste of covering campaigns at The Hotline during the 2012 election.
Pathe graduated from Bates College with degrees in politics and French. She studied abroad in Paris at the Sorbonne and in Rwanda.
Originally from New Jersey, Pathe lives and works in Washington, DC.
