Maureen Chowdhury is a producer for breaking news across CNN Digital based in Washington, DC.
She was previously a Social TV producer managing content for various CNN shows including, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, The Lead with Jake Tapper and State of the Union.
Prior to CNN, Chowdhury was a national video producer at McClatchy where she helped produce the Emmy award winning docuseries Titletown, TX: ‘All We Got’ and conceptualized and produced the Webby Award winning interactive piece Trumps Inner Circle: The Ties to Russia.
In her current and past positions, Chowdhury has covered a variety of consequential breaking news stories including, the 2020 election, Jan. 6 insurrection, impeachment hearings, US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, the war in Ukraine, severe weather events and historic NASA missions.
Her beginnings in journalism also include working as a local on-air reporter and producer for Montgomery Community Media in Montgomery County, Maryland and stints at PBS, NPR and WTOP Radio. Chowdhury graduated from American University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
