About

Haley Brink is a meteorologist and weather producer for CNN Weather. She produces on-air graphics for the CNN networks that best portray ongoing weather and climate topics. She also writes and produces digital content focusing on extreme weather and the climate crisis.

Brink has written and produced content on a variety of natural disasters, including hurricanes, extreme heat, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tornado outbreaks. She was nominated for an Emmy for her contribution to CNN’s coverage of Hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas in 2019.

Brink witnessed firsthand the destruction of an EF-4 tornado when it ripped through her town in Georgia in March 2021 – then jumped in to contribute to CNN’s coverage of the event. And she’s no stranger to strong tornadoes: As a storm chaser before joining CNN, Brink observed events such as the El Reno, Oklahoma, tornado of 2013, which holds the record for the widest tornado ever observed.

Before joining CNN in 2016, Brink worked as a meteorologist and ship router for a private weather company, earning experience with tropical meteorology and international weather disasters. She forecast and safely routed ships around extreme ocean hazards, including tropical cyclones in all ocean basins, extreme wind events and icebergs.

Brink also worked at Fox Sports for Sooner Sports TV, where she was a production assistant and camera operator during live studio shows and a variety of sporting events.

Brink graduated with a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science from the University of Oklahoma School of Meteorology.

When she’s not forecasting the weather, Brink enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and traveling to new places. She’s often exploring a National Park across the states – or on a local trail in Georgia.
