Ed Meagher is the Weekend Programming Manager based at the network’s global headquarters in Atlanta, responsible for the supervision, production, coordination and broadcast of CNN’s weekend programming on television and digital platforms.
With over 12 years at CNN, Meagher started as an overnight freelance Production Assistant on American Morning in the New York bureau. He has since worked in various production roles at CNN International in the Atlanta bureau, which included helming CNNI’s coverage of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and was part of the launch team for The Lead with Jake Tapper in the Washington, D.C. bureau.
Meagher has managed and produced award winning coverage of countless breaking news stories, most notably the Paris Terror Attacks, the Pulse Nightclub shooting, mass shootings at an El Paso, Texas Walmart and Dayton, Ohio bar in the same day, and the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Before his time at CNN, Meagher got his start as a producer at WFUV, a New York City public radio station.
Meagher holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University and a Masters in Communications from Fordham University.
