Dominique van Heerden is a field producer for CNN International, specializing in breaking news. South Africa born and raised, she moved to London in 2003 and joined CNN shortly after gaining a Masters degree in International Journalism at London’s City University.
She began her career as a digital producer, later joining the Amanpour show team as a producer, working on a number of major stories in the field with CNN’s chief international correspondent, Christiane Amanpour.
Since becoming a full-time field producer, Dominique has covered breaking news and feature stories across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including Ukraine and Iraq, as well as terror attacks in Kenya, Nice, Paris, and Brussels.
