Chandrika is a News Editor at CNN Digital, a writer/producer for CNN Domestic shows, a planning producer and assignment editor at CNN International.

She has been with CNN since 2000, when she joined CNN International full time as a line producer and senior writer. She was in the control room producing a two-hour show during the Iraq war when the statue of Saddam Hussein fell in Baghdad in April 2003. She briefly anchored ‘World Report’ at CNN International. She took a one year leave of absence to head back to school in 2011, and is now back at CNN working across several departments.

During the past several years she has been a part of CNN’s news-gathering teams that won several prestigious awards. This includes Emmy awards for the Israel/Gaza conflict and the coverage of the war in Syria in 2013; Peabody awards for the Gulf Oil Spill in 2010, the Presidential Elections in 2008, and for Hurricane Katrina in 2005; and a DuPont-Columbia award for the Tsunami in South Asia in 2006.

Prior to joining CNN, Chandrika worked for the Dallas Times Herald as a business reporter and columnist. She’s one of the first South Asian columnists at a major US newspaper. Chandrika has been a news writer and field producer for KDFW and WFAA in Dallas, and has worked as a general assignment reporter for the Raleigh News & Observer. She has had some international exposure – she was a prime time anchor and executive producer for three years at TVi in New Delhi, India’s first satellite news network.

Chandrika has a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government; a Master’s in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor’s in Business from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

She loves travel & music, and often sings Bollywood songs at events in Atlanta.
