Betsy Klein is a senior producer based in Washington covering the White House.
Klein has covered the Biden, Trump, and Obama administrations, plus a range of domestic and foreign policy issues, the federal government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the economy, America’s first families, numerous historic presidential trips and summits, and the 2020 and 2024 campaigns of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
She was a 2016 campaign embed, traveling the country to cover the Iowa caucuses, the presidential campaign of Sen. Ted Cruz, and Sen. Tim Kaine’s bid for the vice presidency.
Klein joined CNN’s political team in 2014. She began her career at ABC News, where she won an Emmy as part of the “Good Morning America” team. She graduated from Duke University with a degree in Cultural Anthropology.
