House Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump in September. They investigated Trump’s efforts to pressure the Ukrainian government to publicly announce investigations into his political rivals, including former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading 2020 candidate. There is no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden.
A majority of House lawmakers voted in December to approve two articles of impeachment against Trump. The Senate trial kicked off in January and ended with Trump’s acquittal in February. CNN tracked all the subpoenas, hearings and key votes along the way.
