The state’s marquee race features Republican Gov. Tate Reeves running for reelection against Democrat Brandon Presley, who serves on the Mississippi Public Service Commission. Independent Gwendolyn Gray dropped out of the race in October and endorsed Presley – a second cousin of Elvis Presley. But Gray’s name remains on the ballot, so it is possible neither Reeves nor Presley wins a majority outright and the race goes to a runoff later in November.
