Redistricting in Rhode Island

  • Rhode Island’s map was drawn by the state’s reapportionment commission, passed by the Democratic-controlled state legislature and signed into law by Democratic Gov. Dan McKee. The new map keeps the current district lines largely intact.
  • Rhode Island’s new map keeps the state’s 1st District safe for Democrats. The legislature did not change the commission-drawn map to shore up the now-open and Democratic-leaning 2nd District.
