New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested Monday in Kenner, Louisiana, and is accused of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, according to a Kenner Police Department spokesperson.
Police say Olave, 23, was driving 70 miles per hour in a 35-miles-per-hour zone at 9:10 p.m. local time in Kenner on Monday. According to police, Olave was released from Kenner’s city jail at 11:30 p.m. local time.
CNN reached out to the Saints on Tuesday for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Olave is in his second NFL season, both with the Saints, and was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft after playing at Ohio State.
He is the Saints’ leading receiver this season with 39 receptions for 471 yards and has scored one touchdown.
The Saints will be on the road Sunday to face the Indianapolis Colts.
