John Delaney, a former congressman from Maryland, announced on Friday, January 31, that he was ending his campaign for president.

"It's clear to me on Monday, on caucus night, I will not have sufficient support to get to the 15% viability threshold ... that is needed to get delegates out of Iowa," Delaney told CNN's John Berman on "New Day."

Delaney was the first Democrat to enter the 2020 presidential race, way back in July 2017.

The businessman once was the youngest CEO on the New York Stock Exchange. During his time in Congress, he was a moderate lawmaker who represented Maryland's wealthy Washington suburbs.
