OK Go has a history of innovative music videos
This time, they went weightless on board a plane over Russia
The band OK Go is best known for innovative music videos, and this time its members may have topped themselves.
After choreographing a routine on eight treadmills, using stop-motion animation, a Rube Goldberg machine and shooting a video using drones, what do you do for an encore?
Their new video for the single “Upside Down & Inside Out” takes place on board an airplane in zero gravity.
The stunning effect was accomplished by the plane doing parabolas over Russia until it achieved 27 seconds of weightlessness.
If that wasn’t enough, they then released balls everywhere in the plane.
“It’s a very difficult physical sensation and it just causes a lot of fear and panic,” the band’s Damian Kulash said.
And in case you’re wondering, the shoot didn’t go without incident, so to speak: The band members estimated they vomited 58 times.
In other words, don’t try this at home.
