- Police find no drugs on Sizemore during a Los Angeles drug raid, authorities say
- The actor bails out of jail Tuesday morning
Actor Tom Sizemore spent several hours in jail Tuesday morning after drug investigators who raided a downtown Los Angeles residence arrested him on a battery warrant, according to a police spokeswoman.
Detectives found no drugs on Sizemore, who was visiting the Wilshire Boulevard apartment, but they arrested him when a background check revealed he was wanted on the outstanding warrant, the Los Angeles police spokeswoman said.
Sizemore, 49, was released at 7:28 a.m. Tuesday after posting $26,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County jail records.
The warrant was issued on August 19 after Sizemore failed to appear in court "without sufficient excuse" and was not represented by an attorney, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office said in a statement.
Sizemore, who has been known more for his struggle with drug addiction in recent years than his acting, plays a police internal affairs chief on several episodes of the CBS cop series "Hawaii Five-0" starting next week.
He was convicted in 2003 on domestic violence charges stemming from a stormy relationship with Heidi Fleiss, the notorious former Hollywood madam who was once his fiancee.
Sizemore, who told CNN's Larry King in an interview last year that he had been addicted to cocaine, heroin and meth, participated in the 2010 season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
