Sharif Paget is a News Desk Researcher on the International Desk at CNN’s World Headquarters in Atlanta.
Since joining CNN, he has covered a wide range of international news from the killing of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani to the US occupation of Afghanistan, writing pieces on various conflicts in the Middle East.
Before coming to CNN, Paget was awarded a year-long fellowship from the Knight Foundation and worked for VICE News Tonight on HBO as a researcher and producer with television’s first dedicated climate news team. Prior to that, Paget worked abroad in Cairo and the Sinai for Egypt’s only independent English newspaper, Daily News Egypt.
Paget grew up in London, Madrid, and New York City. He is fluent in English, can speak Arabic, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
He holds a Master’s degree from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, where he specialized in business and data journalism. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and the History of Mathematics and Science from St. John’s College.
