Matt McFarland is a writer for CNN Business covering tech, innovation and transportation. He writes about the intersection of technology’s frontier and everyday life. Before joining CNN, McFarland served as the editor of the Washington Post’s Innovations blog, where he wrote about new technologies ranging from hoverboards to drones. He worked nearly a decade at the Post, serving a variety of writing and editing roles in the sports and financial departments.

McFarland is a graduate of Dickinson College, where he studied psychology and political science. He resides in Washington, D.C., where he can often be found playing tennis or walking his golden retriever.
