About

Michelle Krupa is a CNN Digital Worldwide senior news editor based in Atlanta. She manages story production from idea to publication on platforms including CNN.com, mobile apps and social media channels, helping to craft stories that introduce CNN’s readers to people they might never otherwise meet and ideas they might never consider. Her team of reporters covers the most pressing stories unfolding in the United States, from the pandemic to the fight for racial justice.

Krupa also contributes to CNN Digital’s storytelling, reporting and writing on subjects close to her professional experience and interests, from politics to Catholicism to New Orleans’ environment and culture. She has served as an integral part of CNN’s 5 Things team, editing the award-winning weekday morning newsletter.

Krupa started at CNN in 2012, writing TV scripts for anchors including Brooke Baldwin, Carol Costello and John Berman, choosing video clips and writing headlines about the day’s biggest news, sometimes as it developed on live air. As the 2016 election dominated the news cycle, she followed her desire to tell stories in new ways at CNN Digital.

Before CNN, Krupa worked in the newsrooms of The Observer at the University of Notre Dame, The Beacon News in Aurora, Illinois, the University of Maryland’s Capital News Service, and she spent a decade with The Times-Picayune, where the staff’s work covering Hurricane Katrina won two Pulitzer Prizes. She has served on the advisory board of Notre Dame’s Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy.
