Catherine Brosseau is Executive Producer of Smerconish, which airs live every Saturday 9-10amET on CNN and CNN International. Hosted by the Independent radio host and author Michael Smerconish, the hour-long program features newsmaker interviews and insightful commentary.
Catherine joined CNN in 2011 and has served in several leadership and production roles. Prior to executive producing Smerconish, she was the senior producer of multiple prime time shows on CNN, including CNN Live with Don Lemon, Piers Morgan Live, and Erin Burnett OutFront.
Before joining CNN, Catherine spent three years as a producer with ABC News’ 20/20, working with John Stossel on his network specials. She also worked as a producer for Fox News Channel for eight years covering 9/11, the war in Iraq as well as the network’s election coverage.
Born and raised in Michigan, Catherine started her career as a reporter with a small, government-access television station, HOM-TV in Okemos, Michigan. She would go on to earn a spot as an assistant producer with CBS Newspath. A year later, she joined MSNBC, where she was quickly promoted to producer, and led the production of 24-hour breaking news coverage for both MSNBC and NBC.
Catherine holds dual bachelor’s degrees from Michigan State University in Political Science and Communication.
Catherine currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
