(CNN)A car bombing near several embassies in Kabul, Afghanistan, killed at least 90 people in May of 2017.

The blast wounded nearly 400, including women and children.
    More than 100,000 people have been killed in the Afghanistan war that started in 2001. But even before this latest conflict, the Afghan people suffered through decades of earlier fighting, civil unrest and natural disasters.
      There are charities on the ground facilitating emergency food assistance, providing quality education for children and helping adults develop job skills.
