Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will face court martial February 6, 2017
A judge postponed the original court martial from December to the next year citing scheduling concerns
Judge Jeffery Nance has decided Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will face court martial February 6, 2017, the judge announced Tuesday at a hearing at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina.
Bergdahl’s court martial for charges of desertion and endangering fellow soldiers was previously proposed for December but Nance had scheduling concerns.
Nance also directed the prosecution to establish a digital public reading room for unclassified documents in the case. The defense had previously established a public room for their documents.
Bergdahl disappeared from his base in Afghanistan in June 2009 and was held in captivity by the Taliban until May 2014.
