Mowry said she's gained weight from her cooking show
Our society is "obsessed with being perfect," she said
Tia Mowry wants the world to know she’s not expecting.
“I am not pregnant,” the “Instant Mom” star told HuffPost Live. “I am just happy.”
The actress, who along with twin sister Tamera came to fame as a teen in the ’90s sitcom “Sister, Sister,” said she has picked up some weight because of her cooking show, “Tia Mowry at Home.”
Mowry, who has a son with husband Cory Hardrict, called out those who she said are body-shaming her.
“I’m just enjoying life, and when I want to drop the pounds, I will, but right now I’m happy with who I am,” she said. “”But it is a form of body-shaming, I will say that, and it’s pretty unfortunate.”
Things have been especially bad on social media, Mowry said, with negative comments about her weight on her Instagram pictures.
Ours is a culture “obsessed with being perfect,” she said.
“We need to be more supportive with body images, especially with women, showing that all sizes are beautiful,” Mowry said.
