The singer says she is half way through her treatment
She was diagnosed last October
Avril Lavigne spoke about her Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment on “Good Morning America Monday” (June 30), and happily shared she’s doing a lot better and is about halfway through her treatment.
“I’m doing a lot better,” she shared on the program. “Seeing a lot of progress. … I’m just really grateful to know that, like, I will make [a] 100 percent recovery.”

The singer shared that following her diagnosis last October, she was bedridden for about five months, and fans’ encouragement really helped her during that difficult time.
“I sat there in my bed and I watched the videos and, like, did exactly what I’m doing now. I cried through the whole thing. Honestly, I felt very, very loved. And it sounds silly saying it, but I really truly did feel my fans through the process….There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better.”
