It seems like Robin Thicke’s desperate pleas, his sentimental stunts, his corny croons fell on deaf ears.

After separating eight months ago, his wife Paula Patton has filed for divorce.

The papers were filed last week in Los Angeles, according court documents first posted by TMZ. She cited “irreconcilable differences.”

Thicke, 37, and his estranged actress wife have known each other and dated since they were teens, eventually tying the knot in 2005. In February, the couple announced that they’d mutually decided to separate and co-parent their 4-year-old son, Julian Fuego.

Ever since the split, Thicke made a string of attempts to woo back the 38-year-old Patton, making public apologies, writing songs like “Get Her Back,” and filming an uncomfortably intimate music video for the tune.

Some have suggested that Thicke’s rumored infidelity was the reason for the breakup.

“I’m a man. I messed up, and I had to lie for awhile,” Thicke told New York radio station Hot 97 in July. “And then I stopped lying. And that was actually good for me, because I was tired of lying. So this whole album is me revealing everything.”

Robin Thicke’s blurred life: ‘I was high and drunk’ all last year

Before filing the divorce papers, Patton had been largely quiet about the couple’s status.

When Vanity Fair wanted to know if her relationship with Thicke had reached its end, the actress vaguely replied, “We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there – always was, and always will be.”

Well, the lines are blurred no more.
