Ke$ha is canceling her concert dates through April so she can continue treatment for an eating disorder, her representative said Tuesday.
When the pop star entered a treatment facility a month ago, she said it would be for 30 days, but she’s following her doctor’s advice “to remain committed to her ongoing treatment,” the rep said.
“I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my doctor’s advice and get my health back on track,” Ke$ha said in a written statement. “All of your support during this time has been so amazing. I couldn’t have done this without you all. I look forward to coming back stronger than ever on the next tour.”
Ke$ha, whose full name is Kesha Sebert, said when she entered treatment in early January that her goal was “to learn to love myself again exactly as I am.”
“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice,” she said.
The singer and songwriter is 26.
