KPMG

top employers kpmg
  • Rank among business students: 4
  • Rank (engineering students): N.A.

Headquarters: Amsterdam, Netherlands
No. of employees: 145,000

What makes it great: This vast Big 4 firm has a presence in 152 countries, so employees can cultivate a truly global work background. KPMG, which jumped up from no. 8 last year, also gives new hires generous perks from the get-go, including 5 weeks' vacation, flexible work schedules, and paid time off to do volunteer work.

What they're looking for: The firm hopes to hire around 5,000 interns and staffers this year, a 20% increase, says Blane Ruschak, executive director of campus recruiting. Half of KPMG's full-time hires come through its internship program, he says. Recruiters look for candidates with global experience (i.e., from studying a career-relevant topic abroad) as well as extracurricular activities that demonstrate leadership savvy.
