Using the Netherlands' DivorceHotel, you can check into a hotel together and go your separate ways when you check out.
The company, which was opened on Valentine's Day in 2011 and works with six hotels across the Netherlands, gives couples a chance to complete their divorce over the course of a weekend.
First, a couple must speak with a mediator. Then, during a two-day hotel stay, the couple works with the DivorceHotel team (including attorneys, real estate agents, notaries, and valuation experts) to formulate and sign a divorce agreement, which then must be submitted to a court for final approval.
The package, which is currently only available to Dutch couples, starts at roughly 3,000 Euros (or about $4,150) depending on the legal and other work, such as the valuation of a small business or other assets. In its fourth year, the company says it is nearing its 100th successful divorce.
"Everybody who goes into the hotel has a 100% success guarantee that they will be (basically) divorced on Sunday," said CEO Jim Halfens, who said he hopes to introduce Divorce Hotel to the United States in conjunction with a scheduled reality TV show this fall.
