It might take a while to fly out of Midway International, but its proximity to Chicago's famed downtown can make up for it. The airport is just a 20-minute cab ride from The Loop.
Even though Chicago is known for its extreme climate, weather played only a small role in frustrating travelers. More common were air carrier issues, which included problems with slow cleaning, fueling and baggage loading.
The good news for travelers is that they're likely to arrive in Chicago punctually. Midway's on-time arrival rate of 84.5% was the ninth best performance of 29 major airports, according to the Department of Transportation.
