After 26 years of marriage, I went through a divorce. I had always been a corporate wife following him around the country, and I didn't have a career.
I went back to school to finish my degree in humanities. I graduated in June, I went job hunting in July, and by August, I was working part-time at a local bank as a customer service representative (just a fancy name for a teller).
I feel very lucky. I applied for one job. I got the job, and the rest is history. On the first of the year, it becomes a full-time position. I hope to move up the ladder.
I think you can walk down the street and get a job if you try. It may not be what you want or at the pay you're used to, but there are jobs if you try.
