Azadeh is multimedia journalist who has been part of CNN’s award winning coverage of the most significant news stories of the past half-decade. As a News Editor at CNN International Desk she played an integral role working in a team of CNN journalists covering breaking news around the clock for both TV and digital platforms. Beyond her duties as a News Editor at CNN covering international news, Azadeh’s reporting experience also entails domestic news, specifically covering environmental, science and medical topics.

Prior to joining CNN, Azadeh was a writer and field producer at KTVU-TV, in San Francisco and worked for the investigative department at WDIV-TV in Detroit, Michigan as an investigative field producer. She began her journalist career at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan, as an associate health and science producer.

Before becoming a journalist, Azadeh was an adjunct professor teaching college courses in biology, anatomy, and physiology. Azadeh has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and sociology from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in biology from Purdue University. She is fluent in Farsi and proficient in Spanish.
