Woods has been making regular visits to the site near the small town of Montgomery ahead of the opening of his first domestic course. He told CNN of the set up: "Bluejack National has one of the best natural settings for golf I have seen."

Bluejack National is being built by Beacon Land Development. One of its partners, Michael Abbott (far right) is a long-standing friend of Woods and says the golfer wants to share his ideas on design with the world and to take his kids, Charlie and Sam, to one of his own courses.

Abbott says Woods has been keen to take input from others during the process and underlined his commitment to the project: "When Tiger Woods goes in, he goes all the way. He doesn't do anything half way and that's reflected in his work ethic on and off the course."

Bluejack National
One of the first projects Woods announced was the Al-Ruwaya course, based in Dubai. That subsequently stalled in the wake of the financial downturn of 2008, though it was recently announced he had teamed up with Donald Trump to start another project in the Emirate.
